Choosing plywood for formwork: WBP vs MR

A practical comparison of moisture-resistance grades, reuse cycles and real cost.

In formwork, the plywood grade directly determines reuse cycles. WBP is made with phenolic glue and survives 15–20 cycles; MR is designed for 3–5.

MR looks cheaper at first, but calculated per cycle WBP is 2–3 times more economical on most projects. Also consider concrete pressure, edge sealing and storage conditions.
